Adaptive Traffic Control System

Traffic signals that see the road.

TraffIQ is a camera-based Adaptive Traffic Control System. It reads live demand at every approach and re-times the green in real time — clearing queues, cutting idling and keeping junctions moving, without a single loop cut into the road.

Overview

Adaptive control, driven by what the cameras actually see

A conventional signal runs a fixed clock — green stays the same length whether the road is empty or jammed. TraffIQ replaces that with adaptive control: cameras at the junction measure live demand on every approach, and the controller continuously re-times the green to match. Shorter queues, less idling, and a junction that responds to traffic as it really is.

Vision edge

AI cameras and an on-site edge computer read live traffic on every approach — no loops cut into the road.

Signal controller

A rugged, self-contained controller drives the lamps and timing right at the junction, around the clock.

Command centre

A cloud dashboard oversees every junction across the city — monitor, tune and respond from one screen.

Key Features

Everything a modern junction needs

From AI sensing to a city-wide command centre — the capabilities that turn a fixed-time signal into a responsive one.

Camera-based sensing

AI cameras measure real vehicle demand on every approach, lane by lane — without inductive loops cut into the carriageway.

Real-time green-time optimisation

Green is extended or cut to live demand each cycle, so the busiest approach keeps moving instead of waiting on a fixed clock.

Multiple operating modes

Switch between adaptive, fixed time-of-day schedules, flashing-amber, manual and remote control — automatically or on demand.

Live & bird's-eye view

Watch every approach camera with detection overlays, plus a top-down view of queues, lane geometry, live lamps and phase countdown.

Emergency & VIP pre-emption

Clear a green corridor for ambulances, fire services and VIP movement in a tap, then hand control straight back to adaptive timing.

Green-wave corridor sync

GPS/NTP-disciplined clocks keep neighbouring junctions in step for smoother progression along an arterial corridor.

Secure over-the-air updates

Firmware and timing plans update remotely over an encrypted, signature-verified channel — with automatic rollback and no site visit.

Fail-safe by design

The controller runs the junction on its own. If cameras, network or cloud drop, it keeps timing and falls back to flashing amber — never dark.

City command centre

Every junction reports to one cloud dashboard — monitor signal state, density, faults and uptime across the whole fleet from the control room.

How it works

Sense. Decide. Act.

The same edge-first loop runs every cycle — turning what happens on the road into the right signal timing in real time, with the cloud reserved for insight, never the critical path.

01

Sense

Cameras at each approach feed an on-site edge computer that detects and tracks vehicles, measuring how many are queued — lane by lane.

02

Decide

TraffIQ turns that live demand into the right phase timing, extending green where the traffic is — always within the controller's safety limits.

03

Act

The controller drives the lamps and countdown timers, while every event streams to the command centre for the city-wide picture.
